iHeart EHR solution — Developed electronic health record system that connect patient and clinical workflows.

The project involves developing an EHR system for doctors, nurses, and patients, with a global focus on cardio practices.

The goal is to create a product using a design strategy that integrates business strategy and design thinking principles.

Aa Senior Product Designer, I led:

  • Research (market analysis, user interviews)
  • UX strategy and user flow mapping across core modules (charting, schedule, intake, compliance)
  • Visual and interaction design from low-fidelity sketches to Figma-based components
  • Design system integration, working closely with engineers and QA
  • Accessibility compliance review using WCAG 2.1 and HIPAA regulations

01

Primary Market Research

Cardiology EMR Software Market was valued at USD 3.8 Billion in 2023 and is expected to reach USD 10.2 Billion by the end of 2030 with a CAGR Of 8.5% during the forecast period 2024-2030.

Research & Experimentation

Using a combination of Figma kits, live prototypes, AI tools, and microtests, we experimented with:

    • Modular card layouts for dashboards
    • In-line validation for data-heavy forms
    • Accessibility-friendly colors and font scaling
    • Priority-driven navigation patterns

We benchmarked other tools (e.g. AthenaHealth, Epic) and ran multiple A/B tests to validate flow efficiency.

02

Primary Market Research

Nearly three in four PCPs want EHRs to improve their user interfaces.

03

Problem Definition Statement

Consumers face inefficiencies in managing patient data due to fragmented EHR systems, leading to delays in diagnosis, treatment planning, and communication.

What we discovered?

  • Dashboards were overloaded with irrelevant or duplicated content
  • Critical workflows like referrals or charting required too many steps
  • There was a lack of accessibility for screen readers, contrast, and font scaling
  • Mobile drop-off rates during scheduling tasks were high
  • Users didn’t trust the system’s outputs, especially when it came to clinical accuracy or compliance indicators
